With the sun shining and the blue sky above, the wood is a beautiful place to be. We have spent every day of the Easter weekend among the trees and I took some photographs to give you a feel of how spring is progressing…
Sycamore, all crumpled and new. Delicate violet. We are watching the buds on our tiny scots pine getting fatter and fatter, waiting for them to finally open… Even the bramble has tiny new leaves. You can’t have Easter weekend without an Easter egg hunt. The hawthorn is a beautiful deep, new green. Hazel leaves are well on their way. There’s time for Easter puzzles round camp. Just peeping out… The primroses will be flowering soon. One of the first bluebells… and one of the first bumble bees. And on Easter Monday, we were met with… snow! We weren’t expecting that! Perhaps the last snow we’ll see till winter…
