This post is Joe’s post. Having given space to my three younger children with their stories of their favourite trees, Joe rightly wondered when he would be given his turn. So, this half term, he is going to share some of his photographs. Joe has taken these photographs with another of his hobbies in mind – table-top role playing games (games such as Dungeons and Dragons). These photographs were taken as settings which then inspire storylines (‘scenarios’ is apparently the word used by those in the know). He sees the little close up details, reimagines them in human scale, then writes the story to accompany the pictures.
Over to Joe…
Finally you force your way through the dense foliage and emerge into a small clearing where the landslip had broken the canopy and in front of you opens the gaping entrance within which [the creature] presumably laired. 
As you leave the valley, you can already see the effects of the enchantment being lifted. The once frozen waterfall cracks and begins to cascade once again, a sharp contrast to the still frozen surrounding. 
Having climbed this far, you are weary but you can see the top of the ascent where the summoning is set to take place just ahead. Conscious of the time sensitive nature of your quest, you hasten upward. 
The water slaps against the hull of the rowing boat, causing it to rock gently as it slips into the inlet. According to the flaking map in your possession the ‘woodland way’ begins here… 
Muttering the incantation to dispel fey illusions you see the air shimmer and trees seem to vanish like paper in a fire before your very eyes. Before you stands the entrance to the forest realm.
