Season’s Greetings

Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings, Happy Holidays! Best wishes for a wonderful festive season to you all. Many, many thanks to all who have read and commented on ‘Trees of Sanctuary‘ this year. It has been lovely to receive feedback and know that other people are finding enjoyment from our wood as well as ourselves. Thank you.

Here with us, the wood is ready for Christmas; decorations are strung in the trees, bird feeders are filled and a peaceful quiet has descended. At home, peace has definitely not descended – I’d be worried if it had. I have three highly strung jack-in-the-boxes for younger children and Joe is now back for the holidays – hurray! (For those who have been asking – thank you – we still haven’t heard about the October meeting to discuss Joe’s school funding; no one seems to know whether or not it even took place, but we keep sending him to school and the school keeps teaching him. We are nurturing the hope that by the time someone thinks to do something, Joe might be too near the end of his GCSE’s to move him.) All is as calm with Joe as it ever has been. Amos has enjoyed his first term full time in school and was a wonderful king in the nativity; he refused to carry the myrrh because the verse in ‘We three kings’ about myrrh is too sad, so he did a deal with the teacher and carried the gold! Peta was rewarded by school for her hard work with a trip to the cinema and Melody is enjoying school more than she was, while still remaining her irrepressible, wonderful self. We are looking forward to a quiet Christmas together, at home and in the wood.

So all that is left for me to say is thank you again, and I hope that wherever you are, you have a peaceful and happily memorable time over this festive season.
